I've always wondered how people who have been working total time for a long time and have kids become back to college total time? I'm in my early forty's with a child, but I've always wanted to go to higher. How do people who take mortgages and bills and kids do that without taking one grade at a fourth dimension, which would probably mean I'm dead before I e'er get a degree. LOL. Practice any of the fiscal aid programs available help with living expenses? I just was laid off recently, then have really been wondering about that. Simply with a child to support, not sure how. Do you guys know if whatsoever states offer assist to unemployed workers who want to go back to school? Whatever thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. |

I was able to manage a f/t position and what is "technically" considered a f/t course load (12-13hrs) with the kiddo, but information technology wasn't a very pleasant feel (i.e., extremely stressful), and I had back up from my child's begetter for most of that time. |

I know a single mom who got an MA and a law degree. She lived with her parents while she got her MA, and had a constructive relationship with the child'southward father. I think her daughter might have been five by the time she started law schoolhouse. I'k non sure how she handled law school, since it was far away from her folks and the dad, just she got her degree and is at present practicing law. |

I work full time, carry the equivalent of a full time classload, and have a well-nigh 2 year onetime daughter. My financial aid assists with non-school expenses, but not a ton considering I work full time and get financial aid from piece of work also. |

You lot can do it if you set your mind to information technology. I went to higher afterwards a lay-off raising 2 kids lone. I was a full time student and worked part fourth dimension jobs. It took me nigh 7 yrs. to go my B.S. tho. You will have to cut expenses beginning. We had no cable tv, phone, etc. Use for State finincial assistance, grants, loans and schlorships. The cyberspace is a great tool in finding financial help. Skillful luck to you. |

Yout might want to consider online schools also. Many of these schools are accredited and offer a flexible problem that suits your detail situation. They are generally cheaper and offer financing options. At ane time, ane didn't have the pick of getting a degree entirely online, only I retrieve it is such a great thing now. I went to a prestigious undergrad university, but got my MSCS online. It was an excellent program and really boosted my career. I have a friend who got his police degree online through Taft Law and is now practicing law in CA. He has three kids and is older, so it tin be done. |

I earned my Masters caste from American Sentinel University (www.americansentinel.edu). There are others though, but I found this i very reputable. I learned a not bad deal, the professors were fantabulous and very responsive, and it boosted my career. Noone always asks me where I got my degree. It is accredited and that'southward the critical part. Another is Walden University. It is more than expensive with a dissimilar format. |
